Here is the Comme des Garcons Dunk Hi recently unveiled. I like the the theory of giving the dunk an all black boot-like silhouette. These are aimilar to the Junya Watanabe customs we saw last year but, interesting none the less. No word yet on availability.

German Photographer Wolfgang Tillmans is now showing select pieces of his video and photography works at Regen Projects I & II in Los Angeles. I enjoy Tillman's work because it takes pleasure in the things in life often overlooked or seen as mundane. Regen Projects I has a collection of his video work and Regen Projetcs II contains his photography. I went out and saw this show a few days ago. Not a whole lot of work, but good none the less. A.P.C “Butler Worn Out” Denim Collection

A.P.C have made the "Butler Worn Out" line of pre-worn denim avalable at their Mercer Street store. Each pair is re conditioned having been worn in, washed, and ironed “inside and out” to provide the complete aged denim. To create the Butler Worn Out denim, customers are encouraged to trade in there old A.P.C pants and get a new pair for half the price, can’t go wrong there. This is only avaliable at the Mercer New York store, but it should be available at the Croft, Los Angeles location soon as they are currently taking in worn denim.

Lucien Pellat-Finet Diamond Keychain

As part of this seasons luxury accessories collection, French designer Lucien Pellat-Finet has created this diamond encrusted key chain incorporating Swarovski icons often seen on a wide range of their products. The keychain is now available in limited quantities at selected retailers at a cost of ¥6,090,000 (Approx. $6,295 USD)

Underground Rivers Frozen in Place

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC), a 27 kilometer (17 mile) long particle accelerator straddling the border of Switzerland and France, is nearly set to begin its first particle beam tests. The European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) is preparing for its first small tests in early August, leading to a planned full-track test in September - and the first planned particle collisions before the end of the year. The final step before starting is the chilling of the entire collider to -271.25 C (-456.25 F). This collider chilling is more like freezing an entire like with use of liquid nitrogen. The Hadron Collider is monumental to say the least, but the build up and production required to produce something of this stature is unreal. When this thign finally gets underway it will definately be one of mans greatest achievements.

French fashion company A.P.C have branched out and produced their own brand of olive oil, seen above. I'm not a hardcore olive oil connoisseur, but apparently this olive oil is good from what i've heard. This is now available at A.P.C stores worldwide, just in time for the holidays.

This much anticipated collaboration between Comme des Garcons and H&M is finally available for view, in it's entirety, on H&M’s website. This collection is scheduled for release at select H&M locations on the 13th of November, You can view the complete collection here to take a look.

Band of Outsiders for Sperry Top Sider

Band of Outsiders recently created their take on the Sperry Top-Sider classic deck shoe. The shoe features black ballistic nylon and has a high top cut. Each box is date-stamped on the inside box cover and has the Band of Outsiders cotton logo glued to the exterior. The shoes also come packaged in a bag made of recycled materials stamped with the designer’s statement.

The laptop case is formed from two bend panels of plywood which slide along one another to encase the laptop computer.The case is lined with cork to provide additional heat resistance and protection. This would the best perfect accesory to this.

Cities and places covered include New York, Paris, Miami, Mumbai, Tokyo and European Cities (32 cities over 9 books). The 2009 update not only features an updated list of must sees and a redisgned package, but it also includes commentary from influential personalities. Nasa Messenger : Mercury

"On October 6th, at 4:40AM east time, Nasa's Messenger (Mercury Surface, Space Environment, Geochemistry and Ranging spacecraft) flew by just 125 miles over the surface of Mercury, the closest planet to the Sun and the smallest in the Solar System. This is the first time in history that the whole planet is going to be photographed in its entirety by an Earthling probe, with amazing resolution and ultra-crisp detail.

The first time Mercury was photographed up close and personal was in the Mariner 10 mission. Mariner was only able to take pictures of one hemisphere during its flybys, and its camera had a very low resolution: It could only capture details 0.99 miles across. Messenger's wide angle and narrow angle cameras, on the other side, have a resolution of 59 feet across, and is going to be able to take pictures of the fully-lit planet. All while trying not get fried up by the sun thanks to its rotatable solar panels—which balance temperature and power generation—as well as its multilayered insulation." [NASA]

Hiroshi Fujiwara and Takashi Murakami’s “Hi & Lo” Products

Honeyee has a sneak preview of Hiroshi Fujiwara's latest collaborative project "hi & lo" with Japanese Contemporary artist Takashi Murakami.

The exhibition opens at the end of the month and features many collaborative pieces fromm the likes of Visvim, Head Porter Kangol, and Levi’s Fenom which can be seen below.

DSM | Comme des Garcons Printed Matter

[Dover Street Market] is now showing "Printed Matter" an exhibit from Rei Kawakubo of Commes des Garcons on all 6 floors of it's London retail space. The show is essentially a collectioin of fully printed rooms adorned with artwork. The exhibit will be up from October 12 through November 22.

“Through the medium of specially constructed rooms on each of the six floors of Dover Street Market, nearly 40 years of strong creative vision is displayed… Rei Kawakubo has never only designed clothes, she designs the company called Comme des Garçons. This company has therefore never wavered in its quest to express its core values of creation by whatever means it can…Designing clothes is one way, creating interiors for shops and spaces is another. Designing and producing printed matter is another very important way of expressing the values of Comme des Garçons. We hope to see you here soon.”
