...and I thought oil companies were legit.

A man named Fajardo and a nation of unhappy Ecudorian patrons intend to make oil giant Chevron pay for its oil dumoing practices which led to an increased cancer rate, amongst other things that come along with oil dumoing into public water holes. The clas-action lawsuit alleges that Texaco, acquired by Chevron in 2001, left behind oil waste pits during the eighteen years in which it drilled in the region and that this has contributed to a higher rate of cancer and other ailments among the settlers and indigenous people who live there. This photo shows a waste pit left by Petro Ecuador, Texaco's partner in the region. Oh yeah and the clean-up would cost Ecuadorian taxpayers 16.5 billion. The struggle is shown here through photograph here
